TB Muscle car thread.

It was getting mid-12s back in the day with the 4.56 gear and the the big cam (on those tires). Now it's just a cruiser for me.

4.56?! I bet with a lower gear ratio that car would launch pretty hard. Either way, Thats a damn nice car :bassist:

araillac - Thats the best paint on those year 'birds.

Speaking of paint, I'm thinking about painting my trans am. Right now its jet black. Kinda bland. I was thinking about royal blue with the ground effects painted silver. Maybe just black with silver ground effects. Hmmm...So many possibilities.

I think this qualifies as a true muscle car. 1972 Dodge Charger Rallye. Only about 630 made.

While I've never been a big fan of MOPARs, I have to say that this Dodge is one nice looking automobile.

Here's a shot of my '66 Corvette coupe that I've owned for 41 years now. Its a 40,000 mile original including
the paint, interior, teak steering wheel and knock-off wheels.

nice 'Vette Laker! nice lookin coupe.

My friend finally pulled his muscle truck out of storage. A Chevy 454SS. My god. 7.9L of balls. It hauls more ass then you'd know what to do with

Really !?! What kind of mods does he have done to it ? Those things were pretty doggy stock. Tell him to bring it down to NJ, and I'll be happy to whip his arse with my puny little 5.9L

:D

Hiya,

Here's mine. (old picture from '95) Back in the day, the little 340 A body's were always tough on the street. About 3000 Lbs, add a little converter, a purple shaft, Edelbrock LD340, headers, pinion snubber, 780 Holly and a set of cheater slicks and you had yourself an honest to goodness low 13 second car with mufflers. Quick enough to give the big block cars fits on Friday and Sat nights.

Now it's running a set of W2 heads, a single plane M1 intake, TTI headers, 3800 Cone converter, tranzbrake, 4.88's. It's out for tubbing and a cage now cause I need to put some tire under it.

Those things were slugs from the factory. 16 second quarter mile times were what they ran, stock. My 454 powered Blazer runs 16's, and I'm turning a set of 44" Super Swampers.

Too bad GM didn't build a smallblock S-10 instead.

7.4 liter (61 cubic inches per liter). When they first came out (91?) we had a neighbor who put the "dually" fenders on his and then bought slicks wide enough to fit. It wasn't a garage hack job as he had it professionally done. I didn't know him well enough to find out what mods were done, but I'm sure something had to have been done to warrant the traction.

very nice, I love A bodies best of all. But sadly, the collectors have even priced those out of the common man's reach. Hold on to that one.
