TC Electronic BG250 Club (Part 2)

Yeah, I paid $351 with 12% off from Musician's Friend. I had seen the BH Photo price, but also did want to wait for a special order and after Passover. Totally spaced doing a price match though.

I'm looking at picking up a TC Electronic G-Switch (similar to Switch-3 pedal).

Does anyone have anything bad to say about these?

Can I customize what each switch does, or by default - will it
1) Mute - 2) on/off Tube - 3) on/off TonePrint?

I'm pretty sure it's just default. The G-switch is just the old version of the switch 3... same pedal.

What's the cheapest foot switch I could use to use the effects/etc?

Used.... We know the there's a digitech switch that works.... it's thought that most three button footswitches would work.

Anyone used one? There is a Crate 3 button for a little over $30 on Amazon. I'd definitely get that if it would work..

No customization - you have it correct. Not sure how you would change it anyway, unless you just don't like the order of the switches? Only one toneprint can be loaded at a time, so there's nothing you can do there.

I sprung for the Switch 3, like 50 bucks. Expensive, but the thing is built like a tank - all metal case, nice quiet but sturdy metal footswitches.

Back in the 70's, my first turntable, had heat sensitive controls. At the time I thought it was nice, but not necessary. It NEVER worked.

My concern is that amps are not ground-breaking technology and will the Tone Print feature just be one more thing that could go wrong?

I like to keep things simple - durability with great tone.

Well, they've invested a lot into this tech. It's not only on this amp but many pedals. There is editing software.... yada yada yada. The amp has won awards and the Toneprint has worked well for me and many others. If it's not your thing, that's cool. Try it before ya down it.

To me - even if you took the Tubedrive and Toneprint away - this would be a pretty damn good lightweight, powerful combo.

Just got my amp cover from Lecover today - really nice! I got the 1/4" padded one.

Also got one for my Genz Benz Focus 115.

Ordered mine Monday evening, and it's due to arrive tomorrow. LeCover's the way to go.

Got my BG250 today, and wow - it's impressive! Didn't take long to dial up a very sweet sound, with tubedrive on 3 and toneprint compressor on 2. As others have mentioned, it can get plenty loud! Great tone!

I had bass 0, mid -1, treble -2, and that sounded very nice for my PJ fiver, both pickups on full, backed off the treble pot a small amount. But that was just basement solo playing; I imagine it would be different in a gig setting.

I picked up a bg last week and i must say it sounds very good. I actually like it more tham my markbass and edens

I paid full price for the first one that I bought and was very happy with the purchase. I'll say that it's a LOUD 250 watts. I would go for it over either of those that you mentioned. Also, you can get one cheaper.
