Try twisting off and on again the Speakon connection from the speaker in the back to the amp. It could be loose or misaligned, somehow.
Make sure the power cable into the back of the amp isn't loose.

Otherwise, there's nothing about playing backing tracks through it that should trigger shutdown like that.

If it still does it, can you try a different electrical circuit? Does the one you're using now have any kind of appliances hooked to it?

Both Speakon and IEC plugs are perfectly well seated. The amp was connected to an extension lead with nothing else running from it…

I've updated the firmware and reinstalled the spectacomp TonePrint all to no avail - the amp kicks into protection mode after about 5/10 minutes every time now…
It's looking very much like I'll have to take the plunge and attempt replacing the thermistor (as detailed somewhere else in this thread) - wish me luck

Well I installed a new (higher rated) thermistor (even though the original one seemed fine), I've checked for any shorting on the speaker connections (even inside the amp) and that all seems fine, however the amp still goes into protection mode almost immediately after powering up. Help, I'm at a loss to know what else I can do to troubleshoot this problem…
