My new/used amp was loaded with some bizzare toneprints. I want to change them but my phone doesn't have room for the app. I've been on TC's site trying to find the exact link that will let me go from my PC windows to my BG250 112 via a cable from my computer and change the toneprints. Anyone knowing the actual link please chime in. I can't find it on the TC site-I'm looking to add the compressor but the TC site Spectracomp download only goes to the pedal. Or even if there is a way to set the amp back to default to what these amp ships with which for my original unit which was the distortion and compressor.I totally agree - great sounding lightweight small/medium gig amp!

TC Electronic BG250 Club (Part 2)

As far as I can remember, there is no way to do a toneprint-reset on those amps. I believe the only thing you can do is to beam the default tone print back into it. Can you borrow someone else's iPhone?

It was just updated, so I assume they've fixed some of the weird issues it had with Windows 10. I've used it on my mac and it worked fine.

sorry - never touch my toneprints, only use the basic controls
TC electronics website is weird. There are even links within their website that don't work. I can't figure out how to send effects in the amp.
Look at my link higher up... It sends you to the computer apps. For the mobile apps you just have to go into the App Store for the platform you're using, or you know, just use it stock.

I have done this but there is no way or a single hint how to transmit the tone to the amp. I just see the "star" and the edit button on the top right angle and the grayed out "send to pedal" at the bottom.
The app connects to my amp and shows it's serial number (I even did the software update) but still...
It is at least the second time they change this procedure since I got the combo.
I feel that's the case. However I highly recommend "beaming" the default toneprint to it as soon as you get it if you can - even if has sat around and never had another toneprint loaded.. just send up the default one to start with a clean slate.

Thanks I will! The seller said he has the Spectracomp as the current toneprint. I've heard good things that one but will definitely experiment. I've had TC pedals in the past... toneprint is such a cool idea.
Got it home and plugged in. Really enjoying it. I do like the relatively neutral sound to it. I put my Eden Terra Nova preamp in front of it and really like the sounds I'm getting!! Little Spectracomp, little Tubedrive, very nice. I'm liking it more with my P/MM bass with rounds than my jazz with flats but I may just need to play around with it more.

Reliability issues? Never had a problem w/my BG250 112.
I bought a BG250-115 second hand, and noticed that it had a service sticker from the UK authorised service agent. I phoned them and they were happy to give me the details of the repair. Some fixes to bad components in the switched mode PSU and caps and the current inrush limiter. It has been fine since I purchased it, so I suspect that the repair under warranty replaced some underrated or defective parts that were there in the initial production.
I'm guessing that if there was a fundamental problem with the device that some parts were substituted or upgraded in later production runs and were substituted when an amp came back to repair.
I'm also guessing that if it hasn't already died early on, it's probably either not affected or won't suffer by then anyway. Internally, it's amazing how small the heatsink is on the main IC which does the signal processing and class D amp. No wonder if doesn't weigh very much!

Mine's going strong - just used it last Friday at a jam session. I don't push it either (BG250-112) - I think it extends the life of the amp to use it within volume context. I'm usually asked to turn it up a bit which is way better than being asked to turn down!
And it still has good presence. (the bass in the mix sweet-spot)Calling BH/BG owners .
I have a BG where the small black pushbutton (Mute) is broken. Can these buttons be bought as spare parts somewhere, or what have you done to repair yours? Switch works, its just the button where one of the small tabs have broken.

Guess I'm a little late to join the Club since the production discontinued a few yes ago. Got one of the last BG250-208 new for about 230 Euro. Loved the Combo for practicing, recording and jamming and even gigging with a 1x15" (8 Ohm ;-) underneath. Soon after warranty it had the usual NTC issue which I repaired easily with an EPCOS TDK B57237S100M. Because of different band projects I now also own a BG250-210 and a BG250-112 that I really like (only miss the speakon speaker output of the 208)
The easy but effective tone control, the simple but precise tuner, the incredible one knob spectracomp and another toneprint, the pre/post switchable DI in a compact and lightweight Combo with enough power is all I need.
But I hate tc for using the cheapest NTC and (because of that) had stopped production of these nice little combos. The repair is easy. ...if you manage to detach and open the small amp case (of an 208). I didn't have to open the bigger amp case yet. But it takes time (to long for a warranty repair of a cheap amp!) to replace an electrical part for a few cents.
That's it for now.
Do you have any suggestions for using the Combo with a drop-A multiscale 5-string? Additional Cabinet, replacement speaker, toneprint effect?
