TC Electronic BH550 - Toneprint question

Hi all. Just recently picked up a new TC Electronic BH550 for pretty short change and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised with it. I figured it would be a "try it for a bit and move on" type of amp but I am really liking it. I am playing it through two Aguilar GS112's and to me it sounds great. It came factory preloaded with two Toneprints assigned - one overdrive and one chorus. I don't have any use for the chorus but I do like having an overdrive available. I have the Toneprint app on my phone and I was playing through a bunch of the available ones yesterday and there are a few I found I liked quite a bit (will probably leave it on all the time). One thing I noticed was that on some Toneprints - like for example the "SpectraComp 'N Drive" one - there is a noticeable increase in volume when the Toneprint is switched on. Like, much louder. I was playing at home through one 112, gain around 50%, master around 20%. Easy 'home' volume when there is no Toneprint switched on, but when I used that one (along with a couple others - typically overdrive type ones) the volume really spiked. Sounded like the equivalent of turning up the master another 25-30%. I don't mind it if I am going to be leaving it on for an entire song, but I just wanted to know if this is normal or if anyone else has seen this as well.

Yeah, I got one as a buy-n-try and found the same thing with one of the Toneprints I tried, so I think it's to be expected, but I wouldn't label it as "normal." By that, I mean that I don't think it "should" do that...random Toneprints shouldn't kick the level up like that. For me, I only came across one, but others in the same type group didn't do the same thing. IMO, it's bad programming.

It probably is something having to do with the Toneprint programming like you said. The majority of the Toneprints had normal levels that were in line with the non-Toneprint sound, but there were definitely at least 2-3 that were considerably louder.
