TC electronic polytune jacks

i know it's not an effect. i really love the functionality of the tc polytune, but i noticed today that the 1/4" cables i plug into both the input and output jacks of this pedal are not able to achieve full penetration and sit flush against the jack. i've never had any issues with the cables rattling out or signal not passing correctly, just posting to ask if anyone else has noticed the same thing with the polytune or with any other tc electronic products, or any other pedals period.

Must be a cable issue, as not all cables are made equally. I have some George L's that don't always go all the way in but it's not a problem. My EBS Flat's and DiMarzio cables always plug in flush though. What cables are you using?

it acts the same with every cable. i've checked it with a number of different kinds. it engages the jack when i insert it, and the signal never cuts out. i just never noticed the way it didn't sit flush until today so i thought i would ask if anyone else had ever made a similar observation with the same pedal or any other pedals. thanks everybody

I was curious about this so I grabbed mine out of my gig bag. Tried some different brands of cables as well as some effects box jumpers and they all mount flush to the jacks. My Polytune is several years old, probably from the first production run.

Mine's the same - plugs protrude maybe an eighth of an inch from the jack collar. Same with every cable I tried. At the end of the day they haven't popped out during a gig or anything so I haven't worried about it too much, but it does bother me every time I look at it closely!

yeah I'm not completely ocd but it bugs me that the plugs don't sit flush in the jack. i love the tuner though. my old boss tu-2 crapped out a while back and the polytune is a pretty excellent replacement.

As a tuner it's great. I was surprised to see that the polyphonic mode is actually a bit less precise than the mono mode. Still it tracks extremely well and has a nice display, and it doubles as my intonation-checking tuner with the extra accurate strobe mode.

It's strange about the jacks, but even with my own slight OCD, I only really notice it at the very moment when I insert the patch cables. You really don't notice it otherwise. Once I get a decent pedalboard and the patch cables will simply sit there I don't think this is going to bother me at all.
