TC Electronics BH500 with paired portaflex cabs?

My PF500 totally died on me today so I'm looking for a replacement Head to go with the Portaflex cabs I own. I'm thinking getting a BH500 as replacement whilst my PF500 will be used as a back-up.

Any advice?

It's mainly reliability issues with the PF500. I originally looked into getting the BH500 before buying the PF500 so it's something that I'm considering.

I might use the PF500 for casual home practice and the BH500 with the band.

Anyone got any advice? I'm guessing this set-up is practice from a Ohm perspective.

What did you decide?

I just picked up a used pf210he to pair with my BH500, so far so good. I've been using a modern Fender Bassman 4x10 and to my ears the pf210 is handling the kind of volume I was demanding from the 4x10 without issue (I play in a moderately loud 3-piece band that has a garage/lo-fi sound).

The ampeg is indeed warm and it handles the BH500 "tube tone" well. No one is going to mistake it for a vintage B15 but the two pair nicely together.
