So I have decided to plunge into the DB side. My friend who will teach me will not be arriving until October, so I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for teachers in SoCal? Someone to teach me the basics so I dont hurt myself.
Second, Any recommendation for shops/luthiers? In a couple of weeks I will be driving up to LA Bass works and Lemur Music to check out some stuff. Any other places I should look at? Thank you.
Edit: On a side note, what do you folks think about checking out a bass on my own (zero knowledge about DB) from a place like LA Bass Works or Lemur Music? Or is it mandatory that I bring an instructor with me? Sadly I dont know anyone who plays DB so I cant bring them.
