Anybody got it? I payed and downloaded it off Steam last night. This game is so cool. :hyper:

It is so much more fun than any other online game I have ever played, everything is just so perfect. The characters look great, and the taunts are hilarious. :p As for the game play, IMHO it is a mix of UT2004, Battlefield 2142 and Day of Defeat.

It's like the UT games because there are rockets and bullets flying everywhere, it's absolute insanity. Similar to BF2142 because it has an engineer class where you can create turrets and ammo/health stations, also teleports, I remember making ammo crates and turrets as the sniper in 2142. It's like Day of Defeat because it has the class system, each class has it's own unique primary wep and melee weapon. Most characters have a shotgun as the secondary weapon. Only difference is that there are TONNES more classes in TF2 than DoD.

Here is a quick screenshot, I might upload some more later. :)

I (Cheese Monkey) was saying "lol, pwnage" because two other engineers had set up turrets as well, and we had a wall of turrets that mowed down anyone who came in front of them, but just as I was taking the screenshot, a soldier came around the corner and somehow blew the other two up only leaving mine. :(

It's on PC and Xbox 360. Personally I'd only get a game like this for PC, but whatever floats your boat. It comes in Valve's "The Orange Box" or separate via Steam.

I highly recommend this game, IMO it's an absolute MUST have for any online gamer. :)

I would have bought The Orange Box, but I didn't want to have to download THAT much. TF2 alone was about 1.4Gb which isn't too bad, started downloading before bed and it was done by the time I woke up.

Reason I didn't get the package is that it seems IMPOSSIBLE to get it down here. :confused: I've looked in several stores and I've only seen it once in a store far away from my home, too far to be bothered to go get it. I was interested in TF2 and Portal, but mostly TF2, so I just downloaded that. I couldn't really care less about the Half-Life 2 episodes, I was a bit over the storyline after just playing HL2 itself. :hmm:

Oh man, I remember that game. That was so fun. :)

TF2 is pretty wacky, like I said, the characters all have taunts. Press g and your character will do and say something silly. My favourites are the Sniper who waves and says;

"Thanks for standing still, ******"

And the heavy (machine gunner) who hugs his mini gun, and in a romantic voice says;

"... KISS ME!"

Actually most of them wouldnt have been too big to download if you already have HL2. As most of it is shared information :p , especially with the HL2 episodes

I watched my roommate play HL2 and both of us were confused... I have no idea *** happened in that game, they didn't explain ANYTHING... we decided that you had to play HL1 to understand what was going on, so he is playing that now on his computer, lol I'll have to get back to you on whether or not it makes sense...

lol yeah, I think that's why I didn't enjoy it much. I was sitting there thinking "*** IS a combine? Why is this Breen dude taking over this city? How did this all happen? Who is that dude who just told me to wake up and smell the coffee? :confused:"

Pentium 4 processor (3.0GHz, or better), 1GB RAM, DirectX® 9 level Graphics Card, Windows® Vista/XP/2000, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

My Specs:
Intel Pentium 4 - 3Gb
1Gb RAM
nVidia GeForce 6800
Windows XP

And obviously I have a mouse and keyboard and whatever. :smug:
Runs perfect with everything on high, I can set everything to ultra-high but I think I'll leave it as it is now.
