Tech 21 Paradrive DI

This pedal is like a SABBDI with a mid control. I was too sick to take my rig to practice the other night, so I took my ParaDriver and went direct to the board. We use a Mackie 1530 PA speaker for practice (usually just vocals), and it sounded good enough that the lead guitarist and keyboard player both commented on how good it sounded. I prefer it over the SABDDI just for the semi-parametric mid. It gives you a lot more control over your tone.

It is completely unrelated to anything like a chorus or flanger, and doesn't do either of those things. It's going to be a more useful tool in more situations, but if you want chorus or flangeing, you'll need something else.

I'm in the minority here, but I absolutely loathe the ParaDriver. It does not sound ANYTHING like the BassDriver, which I actually like a lot. It is really honky and nasal sounding to my ears, and the midrange is not musical at all.

However, like Munji said, it's a totally different beast than a chorus or flanger.

I'm in the minority with you. I had the same experience. I tried both and kept the BDDI.

Pretty much my experience too. I did'nt think the para sounded very much like the BDDI either, and I could'nt really get a sound out of it that I liked.

The BDDI has adequate mids for me. I could see how others might prefer more mids, tho. To each his own.
