Tech 21 VT bass amp?

Up until about 3 days ago I would say that I would never play a bass amp that had class D poweramps. It's just something about them that I just dont like. I've had 3 or 4 and some were pretty decent, but I love tubes. Tube preamps pushing tube poweramps or mosfet poweramps and some Class D poweramps. I am not a fan of the "modern" bass tone. That is just my 2 cents.
Well I was watching some videos and I clicked on the Tech 21 VT 500 bass amp head. Good lord almighty! That sonuvagun sounded killer! Albeit it was a video clip, but I was blown away.
My question is has anyone played or own one of these amps? I currently have an SVT3 and I plan on keeping it, but I am not scared to buy this just because of the different tones I heard. Btw, I'm not interested in the DI.

@shababy32 ...Right here, sir. Yes, they are that good. Some folks occasionally bag on the DI because it’s output is affected by the Master vol, but IME I find this to be an advantage because what I hear coming out of the amp is exactly what is going to FOH. No different than what FOH gets when mic’ing a guitar cabinet.

This is just the VT Bass 500 but it works. I have the 1000 which gives you the ability to switch between two channels that have been set independently for drive, character, eq and volume. And you get (effectively) a third channel because you can blend the two by hitting a button on the foot switch. So, I can jump between Motown, Buzz saw and nicely overdriven SVT at the touch of a button. Or, if you need one channel slightly louder for certain songs that need a volume boost, you can do that too.

I love mine. The contour I can get with the character control makes everything that goes into it sound better (I like 10-11 o'clock).

I've been shopping an amp in the 300-500 watt range. I'm thinking this one or a gk fusion 500. Thoughts?

The XLR on these are Post. I like this because the signal I’m sending to FOH is what I want to hear. Of course, sound guy will tweak EQ to the room and his ear.
