Tech 21 VT Bass DI noise

Hi @tech21nyc I just got a vt bass DI and when running last in the chain i get a loud popping sound whenever i switch on/off a pedal or a loop on my true bypass switcher. I tried running on battery and same thing happens. I experimented by putting the vt bass DI earlier on in the chain and any effect after the vt bass had quiet switching again but the ones before were still popping. I must also note that when using parallel out instead of output the noise also went away. I need to use the pedal last in the chain so if it cant be fixed then i wont be able to use it.

The problem is most likely your true bypass switching system. The VT Bass has silent switching and it's unlikely it would cause the problem. Can you describe in detail the actual pedal chain. guitar-pedals-amp-mixer etc. Also, how is the VT Bass DI set.

Thanks for the reply but i ended up getting rid of it pretty quickly. I took it to a community gig as a stand alone pedal and fed it phantom power and it was super noisy. Lucky i had an alpha omicron in my gigbag that saved the day, but decided im not going to bother trying to fix the issue. Ive previously owned 2 vt version 2's and 2 deluxes in the past which had no problems.

I started to record with mine tonight (tech 21), finally. Bought it 2 weeks ago. STATIC whenever it is activated. its not the bass, not cables, not grounding, all new cables. parallel out is super clean, its not the eq or gain adjustments. The BATTERY !! took it out & noise is gone !! have it powered off my ISO Brick only, the phantom power is not working with my Volt 2 interface whatsoever, sounds like a laser beams shooting by

Please contact our support department. It helps to provide all gear used in your signal chain and how it is connected. You can also send a photo if that is easier.
