Tech 21 VT Bass DI

Anyone can recommend a battery operated headphone amp to mix the output with an auxiliary input? Something like the amPlug without any processing will be perfect (1/4" jack so no cable). Strictly for mobile use as I have other solution for home.

I tried one (iRig HD) and it sounds ok with PocketGK/Amplitube but I use my tablet/laptop on the go to learn songs on youtube/songsterr as iPhone screen is too small. And it's draining the iPhone battery.

Ok, what about something like the Zoom B1on? cheap, works off battery, loads of amp sims etc, aux in and headphone out. Can also be used live if you need it.
Ive been looking for soemthing even simpler as well, i dont really need any amp sims etc, soemthing that I can use with my pedal board and mix my ipad in would be really cool, but it seems these things cost more than the Zoom boxes.

Just had a thought. You do know you can use the iRig HD with your laptop don’t you? It works fine as a USB interface as well as a mobile device interface. That wouldnt need any extra power.

I'v been the "iRig" route too many times, works for some time and then you're left with a dead product because of OS updates, amp sims updates, hardware not supported anymore, etc.
I'm looking to buy a VTBDI or BFR and just put an headphone amp. Will last forever and can be used for jams with friends when PA available.
Maybe I should buy a GK PLex or @tech21nyc can suggest a solution.

You might find the Zoom better then, as it does run off normal batteries so less cabling needed etc.
But yeah, the Spectradrive does look promising. If it didn’t have the aux in and headphone out i doubt I’d give it a second look, but it seems like a very complete package for my use.
It’s a shame Darkglass didn’t add an aux in as well on the new Ultra pedals.

Ampeg SCRDI.. I use it as a practice headphone amp often. And it has a AUX in..
