1) OMG Yes. But I view it as an advantage as there is more range than if it took a 1/4 turn for a sonic change. The knobs seems pretty tight, so its definitely NOT a problem IMHO.
BTW, after you get used to it, slight on the fly changes during a gig get easier. You learn what to do and what not to do real quick (like don't set it to get two completely different tones during a gig or you're liable to blow out a PA ;) )

i been playing around with this pedal since i got it this morning.
here's the SVT setting im happy with.

level: 10.5 o'clock
mid: 10.5 o'clock
character: 9 o'clock
drive: 10.5 o'clock
low: 12 o'clock
high: 1.5 o'clock

EDIT: damn the high knob is so sensitive! i can see where the limiter/compressor can come in handy when u are going hard with slap or something!

My new band just cut our demos this past weekend, & I just ran direct into the board using nothing but Jazz -> Punch Factory -> VT Bass -> board.

We're getting our first cuts of the clips today, maybe tomorrow. I'll let you guys know when they're public.

I will say, I think they came out pretty good.

I'm wanting one of these pretty bad... its getting hard to wait for sweetwater to get them in stock :[
anyway... I have a korg ax3000b effects unit... will it be ok to plug the bass into the vt and then the vt into the korg? or will the signal from the vt be too hot for the input of the effects unit? and then should I go into the active jack on the amp even though the bass is passive because of the signal boost from pedal?

The cool thing about the VT Bass is that it has a volume knob. ;)

It will drive a power amp, but you can roll the volume back to unity gain, too.

Does the tone on your Ipod change when you turn it down? Of course not.

Volumes on electronics are not like volumes on passive basses. There is no change in tone when you alter the output volume on a preamp. The only "volume" adjustment that would change the tone is the drive knob, which alters the amount of signal that is coming into the preamp and thus controls the level of distortion or growl that you hear.

thanks bassman :] I'm used to passive electronics, so I didnt know
now I just have to wait for the darn things to be available, LOL

No problem. Brace yourself for a wait, though. I had to wait almost four months for mine to come in.

I know :[ I should have bought one last month when I had the chance. I got to play through one at sweetwater, and it was incredible. I needed effects though, so I went with my effects unit first. now they're out of stock :[
I wish my effects unit had a better overdrive on it, then I wouldnt even need the vt :P
