Ted Weber Werewolf/Wolverine

Hi

Has anyone tried or heard either of these two 15" speakers?
There is little to no information on them but I like all the Tonecvlt stuff they do & I wanna stuff 2 new speakers in my 215 (mainly guitar, but also for distorted bass, so dont bother explaining that volume matters, I do not get these primarly for low end).

Ted Weber doesn't provide Thiele-Small parameters which are essential for designing and building bass cabinets. They don't even state whether they are appropriate for sealed or ported cabinets. This means it's a random speaker in a random box with unpredictable results.
Both models you listed are quite low power for bass.

yeah well,
thats about as much as I thought too... 150W maximum, even in a 215, doesn't get you very very far

You want to use speakers designed specifically for guitar for a bass cabinet?

That's your prerogative. But I would not expect too much vintage guitar spec info from this crowd. Lots of us play guitar too. Weber makes great classic style guitar speakers.

Without T/S parameters I have no idea how they calculated the box and ports.

And what exactly does 150 Watts maximum even mean? There's no Xmax and compliance information provided from which you can calcuilate mechanical power handling (which may be as low as 50 watts rms)

I was going to comment that I don't know of any bass cabinet builders using Weber before this.
After perusing their website I wouldn't trust a design that accommodates such a wide variety of speakers. For example their 215 can be ordered with a Weber Bass 15, Weber Wolverine, Eminence Delta 15 or Eminence Delta LF. I know the Eminence models differ enough that they need separate designs. Atlas doesn't divulge the huge discrepancy in power handling of these speakers either.

I agree. The company used to be a cabinet shop that would do special order guitar cabs once a year. They look great and I'm sure their guitar cabs are nice but I wouldn't buy a bass cab without real numbers and engineering behind it.
