I saw a youtube video of a worship band bassist playing a pretty cool purple Jazz style 5 string and found out they're headquarter only a few miles from me.

I'm curious what their reputation is like, but not getting a lot of results when I search here on TB. They seem to make basses, pickups, and preamps for a pretty reasonable price.

I would love to hear anyone's personal experience with them.

A Broadway-style show came through our city auditorium several years ago, where I served as the A2 for the audio guys. I noticed the bassist in the pit band was playing a 6-string Jazz-style bass made by Bass Mods. After rehearsal, I asked him about it and simply handed his bass to me as he was telling me about it. It was a really fine-playing fine-sounding bass, although it was pretty heavy (bassist was seated for this series of shows).
He said the company is good with support and actually sold and took back 2 other basses before he settled, nay, “fell in love with this bass” and kept it. And he owned for 4 years before this particular occasion.
Since then, I almost bought 2 different Bass Mods basses because they were so good-looking. I never did, but I do believe they are great basses for a great deal.

I have a k534 which is pretty fancy.
I would definitely consider buying the parts, body and neck and finishing myself too.

The body, neck and paint is made in Korea, iirc, and assembled in their U.S workshop. Good quality here.
Parts can be chosen so you should get decent hardware.
Personally I'd prefer Hipshot over proprietary hardware but the latter isn't bad at all. Its not Sire which is a plus.

I dont think they plek them but if you are close to the shop, I'd visit and I'm sure you wll buy or commision one.
Easily good enough quality for a $1500 bass for Korean model and Custom is U.S built which will run for $2500 plus.

I think they can be heavy...light is premium woods and cost these days.. but you can request that anyway.

The only problem I can see is that they don't retain a lot of money when they change hands so you might be able to get a great bass for silly money.

That's where I've seen them, almost exclusively on videos from gospel or worship bass players. I clicked on one worship band video because of a nice-looking purple bass and youtube decided to send me down this rabbit hole.

The used one I played a few times was Made in korea with an active preamp and nice parts, it felt and sounded pretty good. Nothing bad to say at all. I thought it was too pricey and not my style, but it sold within a few months.

I am a long time Lakland player and saw a lot of hype from gospel/R&B/Funk players and thought I would give it a try. Plus I like to have a variation of basses for different things and a hot rod J has been on my radar. So, my honest opinion is that they are good basses for the price. I feel they are definitely a step above MIM Fender Deluxe basses with the ability to have more options for pup's and pre's from the factory. They are imported unless you buy a us custom. I went with one of the Ethan Farmer basses (EF5) and it has Bartolini pup's and the Bassmods house pre. The pre is very hot and the Barts sound great and have a modern sizzle that sits well for that particular tone. All the basses get PLEKed from the shop in CA before going out. With that said I felt the setup was pretty good overall and I had to only make minimal adjustments to get the action super low to my liking. The neck is stable as well. The biggest downside to the basic imports they offer is the weight. Mine comes in a little over 10lbs. It does not feel cheap at all and does have a quality feel to it. Would I buy another? Possibly depending what models they come out with in the future. I will also add that the customer support was very good and I talked/texted directly with the main guy on my bass. So, I felt that was a great thing.
