tell me about your Badass Bridge!

i can post a review of excellent on this product, without even reading other replies here. because it is subjective...I bought my first bass 8 yrs ago, it was a Fender MIM Jazz, I could tell right away the stock bridge on MIM Fenders suck balls. They rattle and your sound is coming from bridge and not strings, also it makes you scared to attack the bass like you should. Needles to say I ordered a BadassII off ebay, back then. It was simple to put on, and the best accessory I ever bought for an instrument. I think I even like the tone of it better than the string throughs honestly. I can deal with the pickup hum of the MIM's but the stock bridge has to go. If you have a Mexican Fender they are a must, however I would recommend it for any other bass, because it sounds, feels and plays like a bass should. A+

Another person mentioned setup issues with their BA and I'll reiterate that point as well as I too had issues with not being able to lower my strings as much as I normally have them. That was a deal breaker for me.

Eh, I bought a BAII for my jazz when I was about 17, I'm now 20. I bought it because at the time it looked real appealing and I had heard mostly good things about them. It's cool and all, that jazz is still my go to bass and I leave it on because they are nice bridges and all, but would I spend all the money on one again? probably not.

I had this issue on one bass and solved it by simply cutting the saddle notches deeper. Probably ruins any resale value so only do it if you plan on keeping the bridge forever.

Save yourself some money and pick up the hi-mass ecomony bridge from guitarparts resource. $20, looks great, no setup issues, functions well and you'll never be able to hear the difference. Then again, it won't say BADASS.

I have one on my MIM Jazz. I installed it because I was reading that it helped with sustain and attack but I wasn't having any issues with my stock bridge but... I cant hear a difference between the stock MIM bridge and the BA II.

I did install the bridge with a set of SD SJB II hot pick ups so that probably alters what I hear a bit. The action can be set lower w/ the BA II but that's the only advantage I can say it has. I do notice that it added weight.

Over all I think there are other bridges that may be a better choice.
