Tension of D'addario strings?

A stiffer G string but the same 040 thickness. The Fodera 040-100 set is more balanced tensionwise in my opinion. But the D'addarios feel nicer and are a bit cheaper, especially before D'addario raised the price a lot (more than 15$ per set I think?) since a few weeks or months ago. I used D'addario nickels EXL170 (100-80-65-45) for all my life and love those strings but I want a thinner D and G now.

Did you manage to find a balanced 0.40 set?
I'm looking for a 0.40 set for my Ibanez MC2924 to slightly lower the tension on the neck (currently I use d'addario EXL165SL on al my 4-string basses)
I'm gravitating towards the GHS L3045 set which seems to have a really balanced strings tension.

These Fodera strings (nickel DR 4-40100-N) are indeed pricey (around 42 euro's). Fodera doesn't provide a tension chart though.
Maybe I should give those a try then.

Yes you should certainly try them. They are much better balanced than the D'addarios. In case you don't like them you can resell it to me if you want (if you don't cut them too short).

Not sure. But I have the second link ones. Not the DR ones. Most shops only sell the DR ones, so I guess they work together with DR now. Hope the new ones are just as good or even better as the older ones. Maybe someone here knows?
