Thanks to a few visits to this forum I have been sucked into building my own bass
....not too sure if I am grateful yet....
Here it is, well, what is being done. It is based on an Esp F-series. Mahogany body with an Imbuia top. The neck is Ash and Mahogany laminated.

The cool thing about the neckthrough is that I can do the scale layout without too much fuss...the ruler to the right is a piece of rubbish...took me a whole day to figure out it measured about 5mm long on the 35" scale
....it did make my fingerboard look like a dartboard:scowl:. in the end I got it right, but thankfully I had not sanded the fingerboard yet, so all the little hole will vanish. I am glad that I listened to the advice of a wise man on this forum...measure twice before the saw comes out....I measured about 10 times.
More pics to follow....
