I want to say thank you for letting this monster go. This is a dream to play! The tone out of it is beautiful. It felt like I have been playing this bass for years! Just Killer.....

You are welcome! Don't you LOVE it? Mine is exactly the same. Such a beauty. It was very very hard for me to sell....I hope you treat her with love and care, and play her a LOT.

Of course she will recieve the royal treatment! The sound through the passive is great. What strings would you recommend? :) And what type of system did you run through on stage? Thank you once again!:hyper:

If you can find them, get Yamaha stainless strings. Something special about them. That's what's on there now. Ran that bass through Aguilar DB751 driving DB810, and Aguilar DB750 driving DB412.

Yep... that's how I felt when I got mine... IMO one of the best passive PJs on the market... the only thing that really rivals it (again, just my opinion) is the Fender Tony Franklin PJ... but that's a different beast altogether...

NB: Impressive collection of basses 'louthedog'... have you posted a detailed pics elsewhere on TB... ?

To tie together James Lomenzo and Yamaha: James Lomenzo let me play the custom Yamaha that he has with the Dual P/ Model One pickup configuration at BPL for the better part of an hour one year while he was dialing up tones on the Ashdown Hyperdrive at Ashdown's booth. I gotta say that that particular Yamaha is one of the best feeling/sounding instruments I've ever laid my hands on!!

Thanks, but only Justin knows the story behind all three, Axe, strap, and T are from him..... If he finds some time for a Kool story behind them. The bass is pure Akira Takasaki in form, gotta play some Loudness everytime lol.....
