It's working out pretty good!

The washer/bolt combo to attach the mic clip. It was Rick's idea...Nice. What are you referring to? The mic, the clip, both?
Not know what proximity effect mean. Mic sound good on bass there. Make bass sound good. Like good sound bass.Very cool! Hows the proximity effect with the mic that close to the top of the table?
MD 409U. Had it for a few decades now....Hmm, looks like a very clever $1.25 at the hardware store solution.
What Sennheiser model is that?
Naw, the mic clip has the European insert for attaching it to the stand, it's a standard 5/8ths inch. I grabbed an inch and a quarter bolt and an inch and a half bolt, the inch and a quarter tightens it down very well. Inch and a half diameter on both the steel and rubber washers in order to span the space between the A and D strings.A matter of knowing the thread count for the screw, pray tell?
Yer pitcher dint show up...C'mon, guys. Get rid of those Frankenstein Neck-Bolts and use a Button Head Cap Screw, fer Chrissakes.
It's the "Tuxedo of Fasteners" - Very sharp looking, with NO Sharp edges. (See what I did there?)
And, Allen wrenches are very inexpensive and easy to carry in your bag.
This would be a very elegant solution, IMFO.
But that's me.

As far as I am concerned that is the best sounding guitar mic Sennheiser ever made...by a far margin. They tend to be a bit fragile and the foam holding the capsule tends to degrade with time. If the capsule is loose inside the casing, please have it serviced. Once the capsule goes, I am pretty sure no one can repair it, so you want to keep the foam in good condition. Looks good! I sometimes use a e906 attached this way when the setup allows it, and enjoy the sound and simplicity of it.
