Warmoth makes some good stuff. Great finishing and whatnot. Real beautifully done.

I did have one body come from them where the neck pocket wasn't deep enough. I think that was because it's designed to use their necks and I was using a different manufacturer for the neck. I'm not sure. It worked out in the end but just a heads up so you can check it and make sure you get what works and what you want.

I ended up getting a body/neck from Rosser guitars this time.

They make about everything to Fender specs and American standard like specs so I think I'm fine but either way I'll double check everything

Yeah it was really weird. My buddy ordered the parts so I'm not sure what he did, but long story short the neck pocket on the body was about 1/8" too shallow so I had to jack the the bridge saddles way up to make it work right. We ended up shimming the heel pocket of the neck and that fixed it.

The body itself was beautiful, check this out :

The other measurements were great. I'm not sure what went wrong with that one. Maybe he ordered the neck pocket for slim necks or something.

*Edit: they said that "additional work" was needed on the finish. I'm starting to get worried that it won't be A+ Warmoth quality :confused: hopefully there wasn't a problem. Gotta a lot of time and money invested into this thing...

I got a UPS Quantum View shipping notice from Warmoth and was super excited (cause I'm already 11weeks into waiting) and realized it wasn't for the body (even though I haven't actually ordered anything else from them)

The shipping weight reads 0.1 lbs so I assume they're either shipping the hardware I ordered with the body own its own or something :meh:

It is human nature that when someone tells you something will be done in 6-8 weeks, you expect it to be done in 6 weeks, and start getting upset when it isnt. Thats not a weird or bad thing...it just is a thing. A company with good customer relations will, (1) recognize that peculiar human foible and consequently never give you an unrealistic delivery date, (2) not give you a date range, because that really tells you that they know that they can nail it down to within that range and if it isnt delivered in that range then they have failed, and (3) always, ALWAYS, maintain communication with the customer. It doesnt matter if its a one-man shop and that one man has to stop doing whatever he is doing, making product, etc., to handle the correspondence...ALWAYS communicate promptly. There is absolutely no excuse for a business to ignore or delay communicating with customers...short of a really serious emergency, and that should be explained to the customer, as soon as possible.

I understand your point though I wasn't upset when it wasn't done in 8 weeks, or 9 weeks or 10 weeks or 11. But by week 12, I would appreciate an update or something haha :P

I'm guessing it'll be week 14-15 before I get a shipping update. Which is a little excessive and unusual for a simple P-Bass Body from what I've heard/read. But what do I know :D

I will update this thread whenever it actually gets here but will create another build thread, 'cause now it's 80% updates that it isn't here! I'm sure very, very few peeps are interested because it has been so long. This is just a place for me to document things. :roflmao:

But with the whole bass string ferrules issue, I contacted Warmoth and they sent out the "correct" sized ones... Got them today aaaaand they're the same size as the guitar ferrules haha :laugh: I guess I'll just have to wing it and hope the smaller ones still fit. If not; I'm lost.
