The “other” Rickenbacker players….

Generally speaking when someone says Rickenbacker, a few names (and associated tones) spring to mind. You already know who I am talking about…..

Geddy Lee, Chris Squire and to a slightly lesser extent, Paul McCartney.

My question is; who else is there?

I didn’t need to think long until about another half dozen players came to mind. For now I’ll keep that list to myself, I am more interested in who you all think of.

OK now, have at it.

John Taylor of Duran Duran played a Ric early on.

Cliff Burton, too.

Mike Mills of REM... again, in the earlier days.

Royston Langdon of Spacehog. Notable for that cool bassline from 'In the Meantime' if nothing else!

It occurs to me that both Taylor and Burton went from Rics to Arias. Never thought of that, before.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Adam Clayton do the same, again, VERY early on?

Mike Mills and Rodger Glover - I actually overlooked those guys when I was running down a quick list. Funny as I had played along to some tunes off of Rekoning and Who Do We Think We are just last night. With my Ric, of course.

did'nt the dude from kyuss play a rick early on before he switched to an ibanez atk, like in the green machine music video?
Jerry only from the misfits used to play a black ric that he later customized(ruined) with a custom pickguard and stuff.
Kira from black flag also played a ric, but i don't know for how long i've just seen the ric in a couple of photos.
