At least I've seen photos of both with a Ric, as far as I remember.

I know Doug Ferguson is shown with a Ric in the booklet of 'Music Inspired by The Snow Goose'. But then again, he's also shown with a Jazz in that booklet lol.

Brett Nelson from Built to Spill was a long time Rick player. Sam Coomes of Quasi when he was playing bass in Elliott Smith's band. The guitarist and the bassist in The Nerves (one of the greatest unsung power pop/ punk bands of all time!) both played Ricks.

fred turner from bachman turner overdrive played one occasionally. my pal riff west used to play a 3001 in molly hatchet. neither had a typical ric sound.

See, there you go. It's not exactly why I started this thread but it's an excellent point. How many different tones are we talking about with all of these players? The stereotype is the Ric "clackty" thing (largely due to Geddy and Squire), but it's not really accurate, you know?
