I just wonder where the demand is for this? It is priced as a pro's bass, but if I were a pro, I wouldn't necessarily want to be seen playing another guy's sig. bass. So, as for semi-pro and weekend warrior? $5,200 is really out of the ball-park for most I would think, right? I guess that leaves the collectors...
I agree with the comments that at the end-of the day, it is still a P bass with P bass electronics. I would (and have) paid premium price for CS basses (after a LONG time saving my $$), and I find them a step up personally in terms of woods, construct, sound and playability - but the most I paid is half of this one and that (personally) gives me a bass I love and would be happy to gig with - inevitable dings and spills and all...
At the end of the day though, to each their own and I can respect that.
