The bass equivalent to Jack White?

I clicked on this thread thinking I'd be the first to mention either Jesse F. Keeler or Mark Sandman only to find both were thrown out fairly early on.
Dont forget Chris Ballew (Presidents of USA) and Mark Sandman FTW!
Also Brian Gibson of Lightning Bolt, even though he uses a Stingray5 he uses home made amps, pedals, mods his bass with banjo strings, LB for a long time exclusively recorded on tape or analog gear.
And its funny to see how this thread turned to a JW hate thread, even though I like his approach to music more than his technique. I like the Black Keys and Hella better than the Stripes when it comes to guitar/drums bands.
