It's still a dream that I'd love to have brought to fruition. Any recommendations?

View attachment 7536452I designed and commissioned this bass 15 years ago and the builder moved to Canada and ghosted me.

I'll have to look them up. Thanks!Looks exactly like the five string model made by Kodiak (Canadian boutique bass builder, been around for about 14 years).
I'll have to look them up. Thanks!
Sorry, it was a cruel joke (I figured you’d connect the dots, and spit your drink out, furious that your previous builder had stolen your design).
I use a great luthier in Connecticut- Steve Balkun. He builds his own stuff, but maybe he’d be receptive to building to other’s specifications. I’m sure price would reflect the hours involved in a custom project.View attachment 7536452I designed and commissioned this bass 15 years ago and the builder moved to Canada and ghosted me.

Look up Balkun Brothers band.
It won't be cheap. But I've played a lot of cheap. Lol... It's a goal. I've become willing to invest in myself a little over the years. LolLooks cool.
Looks expen$ive.
You are correct, Sir. If I remember correctly, you were here in 2011 when this was first posted?View attachment 7536510
Is it me? Look at the close-up of the head in the inset picture: The B and E nut slots ? ?

I don't know that I agree, but I don't disagree. That fretboard looks like a nightmare to make.If I were a luthier and a potential customer handed me a drawing like that, I would probably try to wriggle my way out of the association as well. My impression would be that this is a really difficult customer to satisfy.
No. I'm actually a very patient easy going guy. I was still hanging in patiently at two years in.If I were a luthier and a potential customer handed me a drawing like that, I would probably try to wriggle my way out of the association as well. Possibly, but I'm talking about the impression someone might get from that pretentious design presentation.No. I'm actually a very patient easy going guy. I was still hanging in patiently at two years in.

Contact Chris Stambaugh. It would take some time, but I’ll bet he’d make it. He’s a great builderView attachment 7536452I designed and commissioned this bass 15 years ago and the builder moved to Canada and ghosted me.
