WOW. I was surfing through youtube looking for great sounding bass recordings. I would nominate this one for being incredible (if not perfect, which I think it might be).

Everything about this recording is just So, So GOOD. The arrangement, the playing, the solos. I LOVE the sound of Chuck's bass and also the sound of the guitar on the guitar solo.

The sound, playing and performance are all outstanding. There are lots of tunes I don't care about, but, that one I love and I prefer the more stark versions of it like these:

I don't know, man. The bass is gorgeous and all, but on my system anyway is about as loud as the trombone section. Does that sound good to you? Sounds like a giant bass in my face and a teeny weeny piano. Guess it's pretty obvious who the leader is. Also, I think the danger with this tune is to defang and sentimentalize it. Here's the master himself. To each their own.

Can you really call a single trombone a section? My only complaint with it is the painful videography. I think we could had done better in 2011.
