I've never listened to bad set of EAWS, Do you guys certify the soundmen when you ship them?, they always sound so good!

I must admit to having some horrid gas for a pair of FR250z's myself.

Yeah, we gigged 'em a couple weeks ago at a little dive bar. We've played there before, and the shape of the room (long tube with stage at one end) made the bass from my old SWA-1501 subs very boomy and sucky. With the EAWS, the lows were tighter than a Swinette, and the mids/highs were just crisp and clear. I had to roll 'em off a touch on the highs to take out some bite.

After unloading that much coin on the speakers and the amps and cables to go with them, I was hoping that I'd hear an improvement over my SR-1530s, which sound great. I was a little worried about going from 3-ways to 2-ways. I'm not disappointed. There's a huge improvement in the sound, and even the rest of the band commented on how tight they sound.

I can't wait to get them outdoors where I can crank them up. They weren't even at one-quarter capacity in the little dive. Anyway, clean bottom, crystal clear top.

These are for the exclusive use of my band. I may rent them out to others, but I'll be there, and the BE will have to convince me that he knows what he's doing before he gets behind my little Venice 240.

Munji, You've got God knows how many good basses, a great rig, some EAW's and a Koa topped Sdowsky on the way, How do you do it. You've got to be either a Drug pusher or a Lawyer (I hold both proffessions at the same level of esteem!) Just Kidding, Anyway congrats on the EAW's an I can't wait to see rogers finnished product!

Actually, I just did what I advise all young people to do. Get a degree in a scientific or technical field, and work in it for 20 years. You will have a lot of money then. I've been at it for 34 years, and have enough money. My family has everything they need, and almost everything they want, so they don't suffer by me buying toys.

FWIW, just a little refresher. I grew up barefoot and poor. My parents couldn't even afford the four bucks to buy a recording of the California State Honor Band, in which I performed two years (playing tuba). After a tour in the Marines, I put myself through college with the GI bill, and making leather goods. I was a hippie on the outside and a capitalist on the inside. While I was in college, I got a call from one of the partners where I work now (that was 1975), asking if I'd like to work for them as a draftsman and laboratory technician. I took the job, and at that time there were only five of us in the company.

Now we have nine offices up and down the west coast, and I'm the second CEO of the company, after the founder retired in 2000. I went on an 11-year hiatus (1986 to 1997) when I left to expand my horizons (which happened, but I always missed my company).

So drugs and illegal activities have nothing to do with it (I know you were kidding). I'd just suggest that you or anyone else focus on doing the best job you can at whatever you're doing, and the money will follow. At our company, that's how we operate: give the clients the best service they can imagine, and they'll be glad to pay us a lot of money for it.

Or you could just work at GC.

People love to complain about how much CEO's make, but they never complain about rock stars or actors or athletes. I wonder how many people those dolts employ? Or how much they risked to make it work? Congratulations and keep at it, can't wait to see the Sadowsky!

OOPS! I forgot that CEO is a four-letter word these days. We don't make a big deal about that where I work. Any individual in the company can come into my office, plop down and bitch about whatever's eating them, or just shoot the breeze for a while. We were raised that way, and it makes for a pretty happy workforce. High ethics and integrity are hallmarks of our firm from top to bottom. Rule 1: Obey the law.

I'm not embarrassed at all to be a CEO, although I haven't had a title change in four years, so I just got some cards that say "El Jefe Grande." Anyway, the greatest source of pride for me is the caliber of our staff. I really love leading the outstanding group of technical professionals and administrative staff in the company. They're the best.
