When I couldn't find a gig bag to fit my T-Pro 5, I ordered this case. The T-Pro 5 fits just fine, though it's a bit tight in the neck heel area.the foam underneath is soft enough that it will conform to the wider 5-string heel with no problem. Quality of the case seems good, in an old school Tolex and plywood way, and the soft purple lining looks good. The case IS big, but if you dont like BIG you probably shouldn't have a T-Bird anyway! I recommend this case to any T-Pro 5 looking for a home.

This is a great, fairluy well made case for the Thunderbird with the bolt on neck, BUT if you buy the more expensive Thunderbird Pro with the "thru Body" neck like the real Gibsons, the bass does not fit the Epi case. It does not fit the Gibson case either. We contacted Epi about this when we got the case we ordered and they haven't offered us a solution yet. We are on the road so we use the Epi case but have had to "force" the bass to fit. It's better than no case at all, but it is still a less than adequate situation.

I have a question about these lovely Birds. I'm assuming by all the photos that my Epi. T-Bird will not be hollow underneath the pickguard? Mine is still on layby, so I can't find out for myself :-S I was considering building a "solo" unit into the pickguard, but if it's not hollow, that makes it difficult!

I have a Pro (4 string) and it lives in an Epi Thinderbird case. As others have stated, it's a tight fit...but it does fit. And in some cases, a tight fit is good...

Nope. They're not hollow. See my avatar.

What's a "solo" unit? They are nice flat basses so it wouldn't be too hard to route for whatever you need.

That's not maple. Must just be the pic. It's a standard Epi 'bird in sunburst. I just took off the pickguard.

I have two other birds at the moment that I built. Neither of those have a pickguard either.

Sure.
This one is almost finished. It's a myrtlewood top on a mahogany body, maple neck through with ebony board. 24 frets. P/J pickups with only a volume control.

This one is waiting for me to wire it up. I had back surgery a few weeks ago, so I haven't been in my shop much since. This 'bird is a really nice quilted maple on a mahogany core, with a mahogany and walnut neck-thru. Zirocote fingerboard, and she's fretless!!!

Unfortunately, Epi does not sell a t-bird gig bag by itself. However, they do sell the All Access pack for $99. You could always buy that and sell what you don't need.

If you're not concerned about the brand name, there's a company called Proline who makes 'em. They're about $45. I can't comment on the quality though.

I bought one of the T-bird bags like the one in the amazon.com link off Ebay a while back. I used it to protect a Bird that was being shipped to Germany. It seemed like a nice quality bag, and it fit both Gibson & Epi's with no problem. If I needed a gig bag, I'd buy another one of those.

Thanks guys, I just did the noob thing and ordered the Tbird Goth Pack for 399. I had my sights set on a few ebay auctions but like an idiot I did not employ the right bidding strategy and lost.

I did notice, however, that one of the ebay auctions for the Goth came with a Roadrunner gig bag so perhaps there are a few bags out there that fit these things.

I,ve got a t-bird pro and an epiphone case and it fits perfectly even though they said in the shop that it would not fit ,so I made them show me and it did fit much to the surprise of the people in the shop.Obviously they hadn,t tried it cause the case was still in plastic.
