After a few years of not playing fretless, I am back! I picked up this Rick Turner Renaissance the other day.

Always been intrigued by the Rick Turner basses. I have never had the pleasure of playing one, nor have even seen one in the wild. Cool piece of kit.

It's been a while since I reviewed the posts and assigned numbers. I only found one new member prospect since November. it plays really nice --- i rolled that fingerboard edge to 'perfect'. the pickups are cheapies: not sure they'll stay, but the ax is ready to be gigged!

I love that the strings are almost the most expensive part. TI jazz rounds kill!

Despite the new Bordwell, the Jaco is still getting a ton of play time. Both of these basses fit me like gloves.

I put TI rounds on the bordwell above, and they are incredible. I'll try them on the jaco next I think

i could put them on all of my axes and call it a day --- the only reason i don't is that i appreciate other rounds, too. i have dogal-hellborg stranded core strings on my active ax: they're fun, too...very compliant and they have that "piano tone" thing.

but, yeah, the TIs are the best!

Advice needed. I want to try Thomastik Rounds on my fretless jazz which has a nut that takes regular 45-105 string gauge. Do I need to cut a new nut or I will be just fine with the one I have? Thanks in advance.

Well no one got good one so a backstage shot will have to do. At the Oakhurst Porchfest ATL, my live fl inaugural. I promise I was more psyched than I look.

Ended up selling this bass, but loved it while I had it.
