The future of bass

last time i recall incubus hit mainstream about two years ago pod is fairly new b/c i was watching them play at 350 person crowds in the orlando area with squad five o and direfesus

about 3 to 4 years ago and anything under 5 years is a newer band

just listen for some bass, even some really cheesy pop songs have some really funky/groovy bass, just take in some influences from all that, their's always great new stuff somewhere, i know this isnt really what you're looking for here but i wanted to say that anyways

All my favorite bass players, are also songwriters(Sting, Geddy lee, Jaco,etc.) so most their songs revolve around the bass. and even in the times where they arent playing their own songs, they are good enough to bring their ceative views to their collborators....thats is how reggae is(family man)another of my favorites, also all of my influences are 4 string players for some reason, i think that has something to do with why nothing really shines out to me nowadays.....

Well u were all right about checking out the local scene, i actually went a friend i hadnt seen for a while play and it was awesome so thanks. However i work every riday and saturday night which limits me from seeing most of the quality bands.

Also i stumbled across hoobastank the other day and if u like incubus then u will prolly like them. They are very alike but more funky. there is some nice bass in there.

.....dirk lances work in s.c.i.e.n.c.e (1997 release of incubus) is pretty good, and it seems this guy has abilities on slappin and poppin.....

also dont forget that sam rivers is not so bad, mark hoppus is.........jusdifferent and ppl like p-nut, fieldy (yeah, him..) are also at least average.....
