Btw, notice the tuning PEGS (3).

Hard to see in most of the pics, but the 'fine tuners' on the tailpiece are normal geared bass tuners. The pegs are also functional.

Rob Scallon did a couple of videos recently about the octobass at the MIM. They're worth watching.
