the geddy lee

I've played a few Geddys, and don't own one yet. They excited me a lot more when the street price was <$600. The necks are awesome. Most Fenders in that price range have awful strings and dubious setups...something to consider when trying any bass out, actually.

The neck reminds me of the neck on my old long-lost Hagstrom -- slim and fast. The older style pickups sound great IMO, good solid bridge and tuners that keep the bass in tune forever, it seems. I was willing to pay the $749 price displayed for a new one that needed a setup, balked at the "switcheroo" price of $849, and snapped up the near-mint used one for $599 -- which included a SKB hardshell case (new ones come with a bag :scowl: ).

Quality, playability, sound, price -- so what WOULDN'T there be to like????
