Hey guys and gals.
My 79 rs 900 is supposed to have a quadralock neck plate, but it doesnt. It has a regular old 4 bolt silver plate that has the serial and made in japan on it. Here is the serial

Is my bass missing a part that was replaced with something else?

Quadralock is the 4 bolt plate....just a fancy name for it, by the looks of it your bass is all original except for the control knobs.

Here's mine SR900 :bassist:

I bought yesterday yet another Ibanez. Ibanez EBD 605. I have never been in to 5-stringers but I had to buy cause the price was just 80 euros. I couldn't even get a squier p-bass for that price and compared to squier this ibanez is pure gold.

here's my 2:

a Gio200FML with a dualcoil-J, Jackson bridge and preamp.
and the black 300 DX stock for now. Great entry level units and got both for under 200.00 total.

no competition the 300 kills the 200 because that 200's agathis body is superlight and makes the bass sound "thin" unless I crank the bass on the pre, but both unique sounding so I'll keep em around for a while :)

Guys, I'm not a member, but I might be soon. I'm eyeing a used SR506 at a low price. It's black with gold hardware. Seems that every 506 I've seen is mahogony, does anyone know if/when they produced a black version, or if perhaps the bass I'm seeing is modified or misrepresented?
