Double Bass The Jazz Bass Book (broken CD)

Hi Fellow Jazzers,
I have a similar request for the Aebersold Book THE ii/V7/I PROGRESSION. I have the book and CDs, purchased long ago, and I want to revisit it. However, I do not have means to play or rip the CDs anymore. Does anybody have the audio tracks as MP3 available?

You might have better luck if you started a new thread in this forum, as only people looking for the Goldsby book will view this thread.

My daughter gave me a copy of The Jazz Bass Book by Goldsby for Christmas. Thoughtful girl! I've just now got around to starting it, and notice that it doesn't include a CD. Instead, on both front and rear cover it proclaims, "Online Media Included." Unfortunately, that is the extent of the notice. I've been unable to find anything inside that would show me how to access said media. Likewise, web searches just kept pointing me to sites trying to sell the book, which I already have. Eventually, I added "site:talkbass.com" to my search string, and sure enough, the forums again have the solution!

Can someone point me to the publishers expected way of accessing the tracks? Or can I impose on one of you to send me a link to the media? Thanks in advance.

There should have been a link on a separate page when your daughter bought the book. If it's a legit purchase (if you have a purchase order number), then you could also ask the Hal Leonard chatbot to help you.

The distributor Hal Leonard is transitioning to Bloomsbury Publishing at the moment, so they might have problems delivering.

That said, I'm sure one of the good folks at Talkbass can hook you up. I don't pirate my own material ;) but if you all need to share the files due to purchasing problems, etc, I certainly don't mind.

That said I could send you an download link to the Audio Files of my (second) purchased book, because the CD of the first book broke...:P

Based on this, I've queried her. The book was an Amazon purchase, but she doesn't recall there being extra paperwork that came with it. She's going to review the purchase history and see if there is something she missed. I know sometimes digital products from that vendor require jumping through a few additional, non-obvious hoops to acquire the product.

I prefer to do these things "by the book." ;) But if this doesn't work I may be back for an alternative path. Thanks.

Just here to say: I really appreciate all you bass players helping other bass players with the "missing file problem."

The Jazz Bass Book has been acquired by yet another publishing company, Bloomsbury. I've been in touch with one of the senior editors there and he assures me that they are working on a new solution to have the files available on their Bloomsbury site "soon." One of the big problems with the online material with the book is that there is one 10-page PDF plus 47 mp3 tracks. More news to come.
