Having said I have more pressing projects, some of you may remember about me moving homes and having the intent of setting up a music studio.
Well on the 30th of dec. I finally had this "bang" that told me "tomorrow I'm going to dedicate myself to the studio". And it happened
Yes, really. After breakfast I didn't sit down to view mails and posts and stuff, but instead started to work on getting stuff out of that room.

The room, apart from having most of my musical instruments still in boxes, had a lot of bedroom materials, blankets, cushions, boxes filled with stuff that shouldn't be there. Where I lived previously I had four bedrooms, now only one with one single bed. So most of this stuff is just overflow.
After reviewing everything I removed it to have more space. Now I could finally set up my drumset to see if it would fit. No problem, fits perfectly. Only thing that needed repairs was the wall behind it. It had a rather large crack in it. Old house so quite normal.
Today I finished the repair with white paint, now it looks like it was never there.

Will be posting some pics but not for now. For the moment things are "in motion" which is very nice.
Maybe this summer I can actually do some work on the yet-to-finish projects.

Well well, the day has finally come to start unboxing my basses.
This was a consequence of my becoming a YouTuber with my own channel that has little to do with my basses except for the need for background music. Also I needed some space to do my video recordings so I had to start with the studio.
I have enough photographic and video equipment to do the job decently so no need to buy anything new, just a matter of making room.
And that meant getting rid of the boxes as they take up far more space than the basses do.
How nice it is to let all those basses pass through my hands, aching to play them again, but alas no amps and stuff set up yet, so that'll come later. They're all in pristine condition, didn't suffer not the slightest from the move or the renovation. Dust didn't get to them, so great!
I've also renovated the recording pc to a more up-to-date windows 10, with loads of new software. The old one used to have XP, so it was about time to do this.

So I've finally gotten to set up my studio. Yes, indeed, it's happening.
A load of work but it's coming along very nicely.
But unpacking my basses (and guitars) also meant I really need storage space, or better said, a BIG stand.
As I mentioned earlier, I custom made rack is in order.

So yesterday I started work on it.

The tubes will be in between both sides and will span 2m in length.
Today I'll be cutting the tubes to length and widen the holes a bit to be able to fit the tubes (holes are 38mm while the tube is 40mm diam.)

So the main shape is there:

The hard part has been done, 2 meters wide (between the posts) and I'll be using moveable neck separation-supports, not fixed ones because more basses will fit this way.
This thing is heavy, nothing like those wobbly 99$ supports. The tubes are 4mm thick aluminium ones, 40 mm in diameter.
Can't wait to see all my basses parked on here.

Things are coming along pretty nicely...

just some more finishing and it will start doing what it should do, hold basses...

And it should hold 26 basses...

only need to cover the bottom bars with the protective foam and it should be ready.
Will cost a few days as I need to find some glue suitable for this foam.
I'll probably do a test piece to make sure the foam doesn't get dissolved by the glue.

So it took less time than expected:

of course it looks way better with some more basses, that's what it's for...

24 at this point, but but it should fit 26 if I take the two semi's out. At least my storage problem is now over.

Nope, these are the gig bags

I only have a limited number of bags. And cases, well three or four at most (one is below the bags).
Other than that most of the transport carboard boxes have gone to the trash since I won't be moving homes anymore.

Just found the bars of the 11 pcs rack and I also got to the six stringer.

The mentioned three cases, two peavey and one rick case.

and so here's the rest of the family incl. the six stringer, only two "unrackables" the thunderbird and the railbass.
I'll be selling the six stringer, its neck is wider then an airfield strip, way too big for my hands. So I don't play it.
The 4003 will get it's own personal stand.
This stand also has the problem of backwards leaning neck rest. I'll have to do the same trick to get that solved.
Don't know why they can't make a decent stand. Even with more than double the amount of instruments my rack doesn't budge.

Luckily yesterday I received notification of an important change which will enable me to restart my "parked" projects (like the el weirdo bass build) this spring/summer.

Meanwhile I've done some inhouse activities which also included some related to the studio. I also found some very important wiring so I hope to connect everything soon and post some pics.

Yesterday I did connect my two yamaha keyboards and tried them, all working fine.
To do that I needed to create a cable guide hanging of the ceiling since this studio is bigger than what I had before and I can't have cables running over the floor just where the door is.
Today I'll connect the digital drum kit which is now wired.

During my "away" time I mounted a 3D printer kit which I had for 3-4 years without even having opened the box.
It took me 2-3 months to get a stable working printer producing good results and so I made various supports that are already installed in the studio. These include guitar hangers, violin and ukele hangers and support for flutes and trumpets. All own design as I couldn't find any existing ones that satisfied my needs.
Also have carpet on the floor now, much better acoustics.
I will post some pictures later on.

and the just installed cable guide. This looks terrible but is actually very handy, it's so easy to add or remove cables, much easier than having them on the floor.
