As some of you may know, I have been diagnosed with a disease known as Corticobasal Degeneration. Corticobasal degeneration is a rare disease in which areas of your brain shrink and your nerve cells degenerate and die over time. The disease affects the area of the brain that processes information and brain structures that control movement. This degeneration results in growing difficulty in movement on one or both sides of your body.
The condition may cause you to have poor coordination, stiffness, difficulty thinking, trouble with speech or language, or other problems.
The symptoms of corticobasal degeneration progress to serious complications, such as pneumonia or sepsis, a life-threatening response to an infection. Corticobasal degeneration complications ultimately lead to death.
People with corticobasal degeneration usually do not survive beyond an average of 7 years after symptoms begin. Aspiration pneumonia or other complications are usually the cause of death. My symptoms began over 2 years ago.
I quite some time ago lost the ability to play stringed instruments. I am realizing, as I have more difficulty speaking, that my singing is going to go pretty soon, and I am very sad about this, but I have a lovely fiancé, who is good to me, and loves me very much, and things could be worse.
I'm not posting these videos for any kind of promotional purposes. Quite some time ago, a pro progressive rocker who goes by the name of BassHappy on this forum mentioned that my vocals were somewhat pitchy.
I set out to rectify that problem and my first perfectly pitched video (I think) is a very challenging Smokey Robinson tune.
It was posted Apr 17, 2021, and I felt no need to share it here, but now I do. My videos are all over the place, quality wise, and if you don't like them, I understand; they're certainly not for everyone.
I plan to post the good ones on here, unless I die, of course, but I have made a lot of uploads, and they are scheduled for every Wedneday until late April.
I have enough material to do videos through July, and they really are the best I can get them, synch-wise and audio quality-wise.
