The mighty GK 400RB

Back to the original thread...I love my 400RB, will never sell it - but, when youre playing with guitarists who have 2 amps each and play loud, big stages...theres a point where the good old 400rb just gets louder but theres no 'punch', runs out of power. Got a Fender pro 800 second hand, this is perfect when I need punch/power..the pro 800s are cheap cos they aint the flavour at the moment - but they are real fantastic for BIG GIGS!!! Especially with my Mesa Road Ready 4x10...

I just sold mine in the Tb classifieds... it was a great amp, fit underneath my car seat, always turned on, good tone, good power... it even was used by my guitar player on a gig his amp went down, he ran his pedals through it into his cab and it was servicable i nothing else. Great amp, miss it already...

Holy cow! This little old 400RB rocks! For the past couple of weeks I hooked it up as my 'diry' 2nd rig, with all the contour switches left out and knobs set rather flat.
Last night at practice I experimented with bass knob 75% up and both mid knobs at 60% up, treble 1/2 way, and then hit the mid contour switch....pow-pow-pow! What a pounding this thing unleashes. Now I see why everyone says the power rating seems conservative. Through my Mesa 1516 cab the low-end hit very hard.

I see the rear panel has 1-91 just under the serial. So that is the date, right?
