The "NEW" Trabens

...but have you played one of these new Trabens before deciding it's inferior to the Ibanez RD's?

The newest Trabens that have been posted in the thread haven't hit my area yet (I don't think they've been released yet) but the models in-between the "first-wave" of \m/etal basses with the huge bridges and these, the models with the "toned-down" bridges? I've tried and yes, were absolutely no match in both tone and construction to especially the RD900 and 905 but also the 500 and 505s.

I'll absolutely give the newer Trabens credit for moving up to Aguliar preamps, but I'd wait to see the QC before purchasing one.

Thanks, Ian,

I appreciate the reply. I'll be very curious to see the new ones and see how the fit, finish and playability are. And maybe I can find a used RD to try out somewhere, who knows?

Cheers

ooo I really dig this one (too bad I'm such a traditionalist). I guess this is the same as the OP but maybe i just don't like five strings!
