Hi Roy, I don't know where the serial numbers
are located.

I was the first person (after Jay) to order a Nordy. The black one was the first one made. Jay's was on
hold until his cutomer's got their basses
(thanks Jay).

The white one had the serial number on the
production sheet/invoice.

Maybe Jay or Carey can tell you what the serial number
is and where its at on your bass.

Anyway, NO. My good buddy had a beautiful Sadowsky that played sooo nice and I wanted it soooo bad. It was a gorgeous blue body, white p/g, BEM board, and the matching head stock in the blue. I just could not love it or even like it. For some reason, to me, it looked like a guy with pearly white legs (wearing dark shorts) and matching socks... Another words it looks like he forgot to put his pants on...

To be honest, I've learned that when I have to ask the question whether I like it or not, it's not a huge 'plus'. Chances are I'll always wonder whether I should have or not. The rest of the bass will be truly classy enough without conflicting the vibe with a painted headstock.

I too agree they look better against rosewood FB's, like Oly WHite or even Jay's Candy Apple Red.

Question for Nordy lovers;

If I go for Trans-Coral Blue on my upcoming Nordy VJ5
(Swamp Ash/Birdseye Maple/White Block Inlays/Binding), Should I go for a matching Coral blue headstock, or leave it natural?

I'm thinking it might look strange since the headstock is maple, but the body is grained swamp Ash. Thanks for your opinions!

Here is a shot of Scott playing his Trans Coral Blue bass at NAMM with Yves. Just thinking that this shot may give you an idea of what it'll look like without a matching headstock.

I think it looks pretty good!

Care to share some of the specs with us?

Main thing would just be a bit wider at the nut. I found them to be a little tight, spacing wise, for me. I am so use to the Sadowsky 1.875 at the nut that Carey's 1.81 seems cramped.

I know, I know. We are talking a fraction of nothing here but as soon as I picked it up I could tell the difference and wanted the wider nut width.

Other things would be his standard options like blocks, etc...

That bridge design kinda bugs me. Why couldn't they make it symmetrical with the quick-release string cuts? Just curious.

Aside from that, Jazz style basses don't get much better, if at all

Uh? It is a quick release bridge and it has string cuts to get the strings off quickly.

That is downright inspiring Scott! Everyone I've shown that photo to has loved the color. And they all comment on how cool it is being able to see the grain through that transluscent blue. Gary

Do you have any pics of your Nordy with the B style Hipshot bridge? Do you think it looks better than the stock bridge as well? Did the B style bridge change the tone otherwise? Or do you simply feel the Hipshot B bridge sounds better overall?
