Really appreciate hearing that. I built it myself from rock maple and bubinga a little while ago. The neck and and fretwork were a challenge, but I enjoyed every minute of it. I think i might build another in walnut with maple stripes and a rosewood fretboard, but with jazz pickups instead. Have to see if that will work with the string spacing and this scale length.
Couple observations I've made with this bass so far: the strings feel harder than on my 34" bass, it balances better, it sounds a bit snarly (possibly because of DiMarzio pup), shorter scale takes a couple weeks to get used to from the standpoint of not looking when shifting position.
Overall, it's pretty good.
