That is true. I just find it more outlandish than the Ritter because of those knobs. Looking at it makes the Ritter look as easy as a P Bass with those knobs.

But to each his own. They are both godly instruments.

His Ritter is nothing compared to this thing:

anyone know what all those pots control? are they fully parametric eq bands?

i'm surprised he hasn't gotten it rewired to make a few of those pots concentric.

shoot, without concentric pots my 8 string basses (and internal trim pots that are designed to be set-and-forget) would be approaching that kind of layout. each has 9 external pots (a few are concentric) and 3 internal trim pots. and 6 switches

I love my little Haggy. It's a short scale so it's easy to play and the action on it is super quick. The only problem with it is the tone is a bit muffled. Don't know if there's any way to fix that. It sounds fat and woody through a good rig though. I got it from a friend for free in 1986. The bridge pickup died and I replaced it with an EMG, but I'd like to find a NOS replacement. I'll post some better pics later.

Finally finished my pawn shop rescue bass. Was going to refinish it, but after I took it apart, the 'burst grew on me. Like a fungus. (and given my recent attempt to refinish a 6 string, it's probably better that I left it alone.)

I feel very ashamed to post my two ordinary basses after seeing all this crazy stuff here, but here goes nothing.
From left to right my Fender MIA P-Bass Deluxe and my Fender MIM J-Bass Deluxe.

My 3rd and oldest bass is an unknown label, j-bass, improved with the addition of vintage fender j-bass pickups and gotoh tuners. Just think that the pickups and the tuners cost as much as the bass itself. Yes, that cheap.
