Guys, this is the "Show Your Basses thread." These debates never end well, but I don't want to have to read throught them when I don't want to take part.

Please, take it somewhere else, make another thread, or just move on as its been discussed a kagillion times.

I know some people are gonna hate me for this...specially the owner :) but I realy don´t like these kind of basses. Not just this one, but in general all 6(+) string, BIG, weird shape, brown/woody basses (cause they all come in wood-colour hehe) like the LG 3006 and others on this same thread.

Sometimes I also think these should be classified as a different instrument? Please just don't get me wrong :smug::smug: Maybe that's because I'm a 4string-fan... But apart from the looks (which I dislike), those big 6-12 string realy play (tapping) and sound more like a guitar than a bass to me.

So....am I that wrong? ;)

You're entitled to your opinion, so no you're not wrong about that.

The LG, however, is NOT a big bass. It's very small, light and comfortable.

My collection has changed quite a bit from my last post. I lost 2 and gained 1. I sold the Brice 6 string and the Traded Mexican 4 string. I got a geddy to replace them. Amazing bass. I am happy with my current Stable.

just by chance ... anyone know how to fix the neck dive on this bass :-) thanks in advance.

To put it bluntly, you cant, you're stuck with it. My only advice is to use it with a strap thats at least 3" wide to distribute the weight more. Its a shame really because they are lovelly basses... i've just 'restored' my EB3!

Here's some photos of my current stable:

HW1 Jazz bass with homemade ramp and honest playing wear :smug: My first fender and my main player for a few years.

2nd fender - MIM 1997 Jazz bass deluxe with homemade ramp, modded fender preamp, badass and Hipshot Dtuner - My current workhorse bass.

My 2nd ever bass and my first love - Yamaha BB605, extensively modified - East U-retro 5 knob deluxe preamp, Bartolini MM pickup between stock single coils, complex switching and blending controls. Beaten up, trashed finish but plays great, love a low B and wouldn't part with it, was my main bass for nearly 5 years and has served me very very well, due to be refinished over summer.

Ibanez BTB556 - discontinued model - My first "proper" bass, sounds great and plays well but is too heavy for standing gigs so gets sidelined until jazz/funk party band gigs where I can sit down and let rip on all those strings! It also sees a bit of church band use too, the only bass I own which remains 100% stock.

This is the dirty secret: A bass I made in my A level product design class. The neck and bridge were scavenged from a cheap ebay headless bass, body is solid mahogany, pickups have changed a lot but are currently cheap wilkinson passive P/MM pickups with V/T per pickup. Set up in Drop D standard and living at my parents house. This thing sound HUGE and deep but is quite a stretch to the first few frets so is the back up in case everything else breaks or is stolen. Proud of it but wish I'd have known more about bass designs and balance before making such a heavy bass with such an off centre pivot point.

There's a Squier VM jazz bass being added ina day or so which has a Badass and pickup covers added bu the shop, dunno if I'll leave it together or swap necks with my MIM Deluxe yet, what do you guys think? ;)
