Tell me about the one on the right.
The Schecter?
It's a C-4, and it is my first bass. Got it off here from another TB'er. Mahogany body, maple neck with rosewood fretboard, quilted maple top, EMG-HZ pups and an EMG preamp.
I love it. Having the DR Black Beauties make it sound almost like a Spector (if I say it's a dead ringer people would kill me). Yes, like all Schecters they are slightly harder to dial in the tone you want but if you take the time to dial in the tone, you'll love it. Even though I said it once already, it cured my GAS for a Spector ReBop.
(Ah hell, might as well tell about all 3).
The one in the center is a Peavey Grind that was defretted. I bought it for 60 dollars. Great fretless tone, although the strings on it are getting kinda dead. I've been thinking about epoxying the fingerboard so I can put on roundwound strings, but right now it's a fun bass. All passive too, and plenty of punch (although I think it could be somewhat louder).
The one on the left is a Tune TWX-41 that I just got today (I paid for it 2 weeks ago but it was held up in shipping). Fretboard was dirty and dry so I gave that some fretboard polish, plus I polished the body. I also put on Rotosound 66s, and let me tell you, that bass snarls. The preamp is similar to the one used in the MIJ Tunes (in fact, I think it's the same in the MIJ TW series basses-it's a GZP-2), and the pickups I think are slim dual coils. I'm going to take it home over the weekend though and I'm going to put in fresh batteries. The current ones work but I'd like to have everything "refreshed" so to speak. With that said, that bass fueled my GAS for another Tune, be it MIJ or MIK.
