Hey. I've lurked around these forums for about 3 years now, but I'm gonna go ahead a make a post. XD

A MIM P-Bass that I've butchered over the years, originally had a white pickgaurd and
silver hardware.

i'm not even a huge p fan and i think you butchered this thing into a pure beauty.. i don't think i've ever seen that color before. an exact duplicate of this bass will go to the person who can answer me that color.

i'll post my to-go gig rig as i wanted it to look. sadly, this 8 ohm avatar has proved to be not quite enough for the punk bands i play in. i recently got a 4 ohm warwick 4x10 and hope it will move some more air. haven't tried it yet, and i still have got this avatar. sounds beautiful fingerstyle with my other blues/funk band though.

the bass has perhaps gathered some identity by now. i should get pictures up of the refinished neck (sanded down + gun stock oil and wax = reeally good).

My two Squiers.
The CV Jazz is almost stock, it has a Gotoh 201 bridge and Wizard pups. The strings are DR Black Beauties. I dont play it much but i do enjoy it when i do.
The CV P also has a Gotoh 201, Fender Original (62RI) pup, oh, and a Lakland JO neck
Its also getting some TI Flats on it tonight. Funny thing is both basses will have second hand strings on them. Talk about doing it on the cheap.

I love these basses and i dont really miss any of the more expensive basses ive owned in the past.

My guess on the color would be either Amber Metallic or just Candy Apple Red that looks orange in the photo from the flash

Been Gassing to try out a Gibson Thunderbird IV.
Soooooooo sold off one of my Stingrays ( which is killing me!!)
And just bought a super hard to find brand new 2011 Gibson USA Limited edition Tbird Cherry IV. This was the last one at the online store out of the 2 Gibson allotted them.
Looking forward to giving her a ride...FEDEX drops her off at my doorstep Tuesday

Hi everyone. Just registered yesterday. Time to share one of my basses.

This is a 2010 Fender Standard Jazz in Lake Placid Blue. It's heavily upgraded, with Vintage Jazz Bass pickups, copper foil shielding, and CTS pots, along with a Badass III bridge.

To fully utilize the bridge, I used a drill press to make holes for the ferrules which I'm posting next. It's a messy job at best, but the bass still sounds better than when I bought it.

Huh? I dunno honestly.
Was not trying to do something that was not acceptable.
Or get one buy?
Just trying to help out TB'ers get first dibs on a beautiful bass before opening it up to the ebay masses for a higher price.
And at the same time "showing one of my basses"....
I mean if this is wrong...I can remove the for sale info and just leave up the pic of my bass? Not a prob
