Personally I like it, then again I've not played a gig in MANY years & I got it to just play with friends while at camp fires or what ever. so I would not need any sort of amp.

I'd recommend just going into a guitar shop & trying some out.

I used to own an Mbasses M3 fretless 5er (that I miss to death) before I got this bass. The tone of this thing unbelievable and I feel like it is the best sounding bass I have ever had the pleasure of playing. Occasionally, I'll GAS pretty hard for another 5er (jazzes mainly), but I always think of how good this bass sounds and that holds me at bay until I can get funds to just buy another bass instead.
