All awesome basses, here is a stock photo of mine, and yes you can tell I just started since every new guy has this bass

I've been playing for over 2 decades and I have one, too, so don't be ashamed. They're good instruments.

I recently received a bass from a close friend here in LA that is an absolute monster. It is an Achiles Soares for those interested in the bass. I don't know that he is still making basses at the moment, but this one is really amazing. I thought I would share it. It really does play as well as any US, Spanish, or German made custom boutique I have ever played. Please take a look and feel free to chime in and share your thoughts...

Thanks mark and anointd... this bass is only 3 months old. It's a custom bass that i've been working for the past three months. Found some beautiful maple woods at a local furniture shop and got me started.

-The body is very 'richard bona fodera series'-inspired. The preamps are pretty basic though.
-geddy lee neck sort of.
- wanted to copy an elrick head cuz i find them kinda cute but turns out different. haha

I just picked this up as a rare decent find at Guitar Center. Made in Japan, DiMarzio pickup, stout bridge. I tuned it to BEAD after filing the nut and saddles....sounds and plays great and I'm a sucker for the "R" logo.

I guess this also kinda counts. It's tuned low E like a bass.
