I've been looking everywhere for information on the MEC gold (active) jazz pickups, 60201L and 60201S. Other than housing length (94 and 91mm, respectively), is there any other difference (output, windings, etc.)? I'm specifically looking to confirm that the max string width is identical for both. I can't find info on them separately (only as a set). Can anyone please advise?

Way off topic here (there's a whole forum devoted to strings), but I have no issue with uncoated SS roundwounds and love the bright tone. Played Rotosounds for decades. To each their own I guess. My Buzzard gets Optima Unique Golds though.

I'm with ya, been running K Smith taper core on my FNA Jazzman. The punch is a great compliment to the bass' earthy vibe.

Yup, truss rod replacement. Previous owner lived by the ocean. TR was pretty badly seized up when I got it. But not to fear, I was able to break the nut loose

So yeah, my guy had to take the fretboard off to replace the TR. He said it came off cleanly and should go back together no problem. Hope to have it back this weekend.

Glad you're getting it repaired the right way. Getting the board off clean enough to reinstall is awesome (and not always the case...). Way to preserve a Wick

Hi everybody. I started playing bass in November 2018 and bought a 6 string GPS Corvette. Shortly after starting I realized I'm in idiot and stopped the 6 string since I was basically just playing the A string. Like most worship bassists all I really needed was the E and A strings, and barely even those.

Long story short, I just sold my GPS 6 Corvette. The new owner wanted me to ship it to him in a hard case that I got at Guitar Center that, turns out, fit beautifully and he reimbursed me for the effort and cost.

Turns out, I am unable to make this long story short.

TLDR: I have a Warwick Rockbag gigbag available to anyone with a Warwick bass. Available for free in SoCal just come pick it up. Super bonus points if you would like to offer me a free lesson in exchange.

Okay, finally. Here are my pandemic basses: my 2020 Corvette $$ (bought used this month) and my 2003 Streamer LX bought from Portugal in May (received in July ).

These are my third and fourth Warwicks, having previously owned a Corvette Standard and a Thumb. Those first two had the cool factor, but the current ones have the tone and playability. So I've finally found the perfect Warwicks for me (because I am not cool).

I never cared for gold hardware to begin with, but the bridge and knobs were pitted and irregular in color when I received the bass, so I replaced them immediately. For whatever reason, though, I don't really mind the gold tuners.

I upgraded my Thumb SC with Gotoh Res-O-Lites, Bubinga Pommelé tuning keys, an Ebony truss rod cover, and Ebony knobs:

It reduced the weight by about 1/2 lb., but most importantly (for me) looks and feels better. The less metal/plastic and the more wood the better. I think wooden tuning keys and knobs are classy and organic--and I love the feel. Just an all-around improved tactile experience.

I was only selling because I really wanted a particular acoustic guitar. But I managed to sell another acoustic so I didn't need to let this gem go. Which was the ideal solution.

She is a 1991 double jazz EMG fret marker delete. Can't say enough good things about this bass.
