I only have a '78 Pedulla guitar and a '76 Wurlitzer/Orsini bass to compare, and these have a different system. The bass has two rods (Rickenbacker style), the guitar has only one. They work like 99% of the trussrods in the world, not reversed like later Pedulla systems. No idea when he switched to his reversed system.

Were you in Boston? I bought my first Pedulla (/Orsini) EL10B bass at Wurlitzer on Newbury @ Mass Ave near Berklee about 1978-9. Double humbuckers with coil-cut switches + a phase-reverse toggle, LED battery light, BadAss II bridge, a Calzone case, & very heavy...

Looks like mike is watching the influx in demand from his remaining A stock and figure peeps would pay A stock prices from what looks like remaining B stock basses..pretty sure there are a few more laying around; appears to be the test batch ..

Not harsh... truth... DEFINATELY not NAMM quality..look at the natural mvp5... nough said... but do you blame him... he is a businessman as well as a luthier... when he announced his retirement, his personal creation pentabuzz ($15k original price), the nuance and other basses that sat around for YEARS on his online shop were sold... the price of used peds jumped in price (reverb/Ebay) so it was a smart decision to put his 2nds out there... as soon as the word gets out, they will sell

When they were first released, around 1995-6. The Rapture was the "entry level" Pedulla.

Pat Wilkins refinished my Buzz fingerboard this month I am NOT happy with the result. If I had a second Buzz, I would not send it to him.
I am glad Danielle’s result was different, maybe we should compare notes.
My bass came back with number of imperfections that I would expect from a less-experienced person. Before I sent it off, Pat said to me “I’ve done a lot of them” (fingerboards). I had heard has 25 years of experience refinishing guitars (correct?) and a great reputation.
If anyone wants to see before and after photos, I can post some.

My bass is not ruined or unplayable, but since the board was not peeling or worn through, the only improvement is cosmetic… as long as you don’t look too closely. And even if it had been worn though, I'd still be disappointed but less so.

At the job-end, when I’m giving him my credit card over the phone, there was no communication of any problems and not a word about the ¼’’ of finish that got pulled off the front-face of the bass.

Since Michael Pedulla did not pass on the knowledge of how to care for all of his hard work, the task of finding someone who will put in the care required is up to us. I’ve heard people mention Marty Bell and Mike Lull as possibilities.

I'm sorry about your experience with Pat you are not alone. My buddy had a horrible experience with him, bubbles and other imperfections in his Jazz bass CAR finish.

Except that Raptures used to be something like half the price of other Pedulla models. Now they are priced nearly the same.

Oh, I’m sure the main factor is just a money grab to boost a price. I already felt old (and I am) when they started calling 80’s instruments Vintage.

These things can be combined, Dr. Cheese. I'm in a polyamorous relationship with all of my basses. Who knows what they do with each other when I'm not around. I noticed my Pedulla MVP6 crawls closer to my new F-Bass during the night.

I see the asking prices of used Pedullas going up and it's not realistic. They certainly don't sell quickly. On Reverb we can't know what the "best offer" price accepted by the seller was in the end. Basically, if (my) budget is less than 2K, (I) am not going to spend more than that just because the new 5K basses, which (I) never considered buying anyway are no longer being made. I don't think the lack of new Pedullas is going to affect the used market -- same as always... except for the very recent ones (5-7 years old) which I rarely/never see for sale. It will be interesting to see those prices. I suspect that players who buy new/late models plan to keep them for a few decades.
